THE THOUGHT THAT KEEPS COMING BACK

September 27, 2026
A woman sits on outdoor steps at night beneath the words of Isaiah 26:3: “You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.”

The day kept you busy enough to leave your worry alone. You answered messages, got through what needed doing, maybe even laughed with someone. Then the house grew quiet, and there it was again: the conversation you keep replaying, the money that has to stretch further than it can, or the person you’re worried about but cannot reach. You go over every detail as if thinking about it one more time will reveal the answer. Before long, you’re exhausted from a problem you haven’t moved an inch closer to solving.

Isaiah’s words were spoken to people who needed a reason to trust God, not to people whose lives were already settled. He says God will keep in peace the one whose mind is steadfast and trusts Him. Maybe tonight your mind doesn’t feel steadfast at all. The same thought keeps coming back, and you’re tired of trying to find an answer before you can sleep. Tell God what’s weighing on you. You may still have to face it tomorrow, but you don’t have to settle it in the dark tonight. You can rest knowing He hears you and will be with you when morning comes.

MOMENT OF PRAYER

Lord, You know the thoughts I keep returning to. You know what will keep me from sleeping. I’m tired of carrying it by myself. Please help me be honest with You, trust You with what I’m struggling with, and light my path with the next step I need to take when the morning comes.

In Jesus’ beautiful name, Amen.

STAND FIRM TODAY

Name the worry you keep replaying. Pray about that specific thing, then write down one step you can take today. Let the rest wait with God.
