You Don’t Have to Pretend You’re Fine

October 8, 2026
Open Bible and coffee mug on a wooden table in morning light, with the words “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Someone asks how you’re doing, and “I’m fine” comes out before you even think about it. There’s work to finish, people counting on you, and little room to admit how tired you’ve become.

You may have prayed for relief and wondered why the struggle is still there. Paul knew that feeling. He pleaded with the Lord three times to remove an affliction he called a thorn in the flesh. The answer he received was a promise of grace sufficient to sustain him.

That doesn’t make the pain easy. It does mean your weakness cannot put you beyond Christ’s help. You can come to Him tired, uncertain, and honest about what you cannot handle.

You don’t have to pretend you’re fine when you pray today. Tell Him where it hurts. Ask for the strength to do what is in front of you, and let someone help if you need it. Depending on Christ is part of living by faith.

MOMENT OF PRAYER

Jesus, You know where I’m struggling, even when I hide it from everyone else. Help me trust Your grace today. Give me strength for what I face and the humility to receive help.

In Jesus’ beautiful name, Amen.

STAND FIRM TODAY

Bring one struggle honestly to Jesus today. Ask for His help before you try to push through it alone.
