When You Feel Tired, God Gives Strength
There are seasons in life when you feel drained in every way.
Your body is tired. Your mind is tired. Your heart is tired. You may still be showing up, still handling responsibilities, still pushing forward, but deep down you know your strength feels thin. Some days, the pressure of life does not come all at once in one dramatic moment. It comes slowly through stress, disappointment, uncertainty, and the weight of carrying too much for too long.
That is why Isaiah 40:31 is such a powerful promise:
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
This verse does not pretend life is easy. It does not ignore weariness. It speaks directly to it.
God knows that people grow tired. He knows that faith is often tested in seasons where energy is low, answers feel delayed, and the road ahead feels longer than expected. But this verse reminds us that strength is not something we are meant to manufacture by ourselves. Real strength is renewed by God.
To wait upon the Lord does not mean doing nothing. It means looking to Him with trust. It means depending on Him instead of collapsing under the pressure of trying to carry everything alone. It means bringing your weakness, your frustration, your mental exhaustion, and your discouragement to the One who is not weak, not shaken, and not empty.
God does not just command you to keep going. He helps you keep going.
Sometimes His strength lifts you powerfully, like soaring above what once felt crushing. Sometimes His strength enables you to run through a hard season without giving up. And sometimes His strength simply helps you keep walking one step at a time when life feels heavy. But in every case, the promise remains the same: He renews strength.
That matters, because many people today are not just physically tired. They are spiritually worn down. They are mentally overloaded. They are emotionally depleted. They are trying to hold themselves together while quietly wondering how much longer they can keep doing this.
If that is where you are, this verse is for you.
You do not have to pretend to be stronger than you are. You do not have to hide your weakness from God. Bring it to Him honestly. Pray honestly. Trust Him again today. His strength is not reserved for people who have it all together. His strength is given to those who know they need Him.
So if you feel tired, do not give up.
Wait on the Lord. Stay near Him. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep taking the next faithful step. God is able to renew what feels worn down in you. He is able to strengthen you in ways the world cannot. And even in a hard season, He can steady your heart and help you stand firm.

This was encouraging. Sometimes the strength God gives is simply enough to take the next step and keep going when we feel worn down.
