Courage When You Feel Afraid
Fear can make even a single step feel bigger than it is. When you feel afraid, prayer helps you remember that courage is not the absence of fear; it is moving forward with God’s presence beside you.
“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” — Joshua 1:9
Prayer
Lord, I need courage today. You know what I am facing, and You know the fear that has been rising in my heart. I do not want fear to control my choices, my words, my obedience, or my peace. I bring this fear to You now.
Your Word says to be strong and of good courage because You are with Your people wherever they go. Help me believe that for this moment. Remind me that I am not walking into this alone. You go before me, You stand with me, and You are able to strengthen me.
Lord, steady my heart. Give me wisdom for what to do, courage for what must be faced, and peace for what I cannot control. When my mind imagines the worst, bring me back to Your truth. When I feel weak, help me lean on Your strength instead of my own.
Help me take the next faithful step, even if my heart is trembling. Let my confidence come from You, not from my circumstances. Make me brave in the quiet, obedient way that honors You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Share Your Prayer Request
You do not have to carry this alone. If you would like others to pray with you, you are welcome to share your request on the ArmyAngel Prayer Wall.

I appreciate that this prayer does not pretend fear is not real. It asks God for courage in the middle of it, which feels honest and practical.
