Don’t Let Go Yet

There is a kind of waiting that can wear a person down. At first, you pray with confidence. You believe God will make a way, change the situation, open the door, or give you the answer you need. But when days become weeks and weeks become months, hope can start to feel heavier than it did in the beginning.

Maybe you know that feeling. You still believe in God, but you are tired of wondering when something will change.

Hebrews gives us a beautiful reason to keep holding on. It doesn’t say to hold on because everything will soon make sense. It says to hold on because He who promised is faithful.

That is an important difference. Our confidence was never meant to rest in how quickly circumstances improve. It rests in the character of God. The same God who was faithful when you first prayed is faithful in the silence. He is faithful when the door opens, and He is faithful while you are still standing in front of it.

Sometimes faith is not a dramatic breakthrough. Sometimes faith is waking up after another difficult day and choosing to trust God again.

If you are tired today, tell Him. If you are disappointed, bring that too. You don’t have to manufacture strength or pretend the waiting doesn’t hurt.

Just don’t mistake God’s silence for His absence.

You may not know what He is doing yet, but you know who He is.

And that is enough reason to hold on one more day.
