God Is Still Working in the Waiting

October 17, 2026
A weary man bows his head in prayer over an open Bible at his kitchen table, surrounded by everyday responsibilities. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that those who wait on God will find renewed strength.

Waiting to see change can wear you down in ways that are hard to explain. You pray about something, do everything you know to do, and still find yourself waking up to the same circumstances. The bills haven’t changed. The relationship hasn’t improved. The answer you’ve been hoping for hasn’t come. You keep moving through your day, taking care of responsibilities, smiling when you need to, but somewhere inside you’re wondering how much longer you can keep going.

Isaiah reminds us that strength doesn’t always come from seeing our circumstances change. Sometimes it comes from learning to trust God while they remain exactly as they are. Waiting on the Lord isn’t sitting around doing nothing. It’s continuing to live faithfully, making the best decisions you can, and believing that God hasn’t abandoned you simply because you can’t see what He’s doing. His promise isn’t that we’ll never grow tired. It’s that those who depend on Him can find renewed strength to keep going. And sometimes that strength looks less like soaring above your troubles and more like getting out of bed, facing another difficult day, and taking the next step with God beside you.

MOMENT OF PRAYER

Heavenly Father, You know the things I’ve been waiting for and the prayers I’ve whispered more times than I can count. You see the moments when I feel discouraged, when my patience wears thin, and when I struggle to understand why things haven’t changed. Lord, help me trust You even when I don’t have answers. Give me wisdom to recognize what I can do today and the courage to leave what I cannot control in Your hands. Renew my strength when I’m weary, steady my heart when I’m anxious, and remind me that my circumstances do not determine Your faithfulness. Teach me to walk with You through the waiting, one day at a time.

In Jesus’ beautiful name, Amen.

STAND FIRM TODAY

Whatever you’re waiting for, don’t let the silence convince you that God has stopped listening. Keep praying, keep trusting, and take the next faithful step in front of you.
