You Don’t Have to Carry It All

October 18, 2026
A weary man sits with his head bowed and hands clasped on the steps of his front porch in the warm morning sunlight. Matthew 11:28 reads, “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.”

There’s a kind of tired that a good night’s sleep doesn’t fix. You can finish the chores, answer the messages, and make it through another week, yet still feel like you’re carrying more than anyone knows. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t what you have to do. It’s feeling like you have to hold everything together while you do it.

When Jesus says, “Come to me,” He isn’t speaking only to people whose lives have fallen apart. He’s speaking to those who keep showing up even when they’re worn down. Notice what He offers. Not a longer list of things to get right, but rest in Him. The bills may still need paying. The difficult conversation may still need to happen. But you don’t have to face those things alone. Jesus knows what you’re carrying, including the things you’ve never told anyone. And His invitation isn’t to become stronger before coming to Him. It’s to come just as you are and trust Him with what you cannot handle on your own.

MOMENT OF PRAYER

Heavenly Father, You know how tired I get trying to keep everything together. You see the worries I carry and the things I struggle to surrender. Forgive me for the times I depend on my own strength instead of trusting You. Teach me to bring my burdens to Jesus, to rest in His promises, and to face each day knowing I am never alone.

In Jesus’ beautiful name, Amen.

STAND FIRM TODAY

Take a few quiet minutes with Jesus today. Tell Him what’s weighing on your heart, and allow yourself to rest in His presence.
