DO THE GOOD IN FRONT OF YOU

September 25, 2026
Two people kneel on a sunlit city sidewalk helping gather spilled groceries, with Galatians 6:10 displayed above: “So then, as we have opportunity, let’s work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.”

The opportunity God gives you today may not look important. It may be the person who needs a few minutes of your time, the encouragement you almost keep to yourself, the small responsibility nobody will notice, or the chance to show patience when it would be easier to walk away. We can become so focused on finding some bigger purpose that we overlook the good God has already placed directly in front of us.

Paul tells the Galatians not to grow weary in doing good, and then says, “as we have opportunity,” we should do good to others. Faithfulness is not always dramatic. Sometimes following Jesus simply means recognizing the opportunity that is already here and responding with love. You do not have to change the whole world today. You do not have to earn God’s love by accomplishing more. But because you belong to Christ, you can carry His love into the ordinary moments He gives you. The assignment may seem small, but obedience never is.

MOMENT OF PRAYER

Father, open my eyes to the opportunities You place in front of me today. Keep me from overlooking someone I can encourage, help, forgive, or serve. Let the way I treat people reflect the love of Jesus, even in the smallest moments.

In Jesus’ beautiful name, Amen.

STAND FIRM TODAY

Stop waiting for the perfect opportunity to do something meaningful. Do the good God has already placed in front of you.
