When You Need Hope Again
There are times when hope feels easy, like sunlight pouring through an open window. But there are other times when hope feels far away. You may still believe in God, but your heart feels tired. You may still pray, but the words feel smaller than they used to.
Romans 15:13 says, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
That verse begins with a beautiful name for God: the God of hope.
Hope does not begin with our circumstances improving. It begins with who God is. He is not a God who runs out of light. He is not empty of encouragement. He is not standing at a distance, waiting for you to create hope on your own.
He is the God of hope, and He knows how to fill what feels empty.
Sometimes life drains hope slowly. A disappointment here, a delay there, a burden that keeps stretching longer than expected. Like a cup with a tiny crack, the heart can lose hope little by little until one day you realize you feel almost dry inside.
Romans 15:13 reminds us that God can fill His people with joy and peace in believing. Not because everything has become easy, but because faith connects the heart again to the One who remains faithful.
To abound in hope does not mean you never feel sadness or uncertainty. It means hope begins to rise again because the Holy Spirit is at work within you. God’s power can strengthen places that feel weak. His truth can lift the eyes again. His presence can breathe life into a tired soul.
If you need hope again, start honestly. Tell the Lord where hope has felt thin. Name the disappointment. Name the fear. Name the place where you feel tired of waiting. Then ask the God of hope to fill you again.
Hope may return like a sunrise rather than a lightning bolt. Slowly. Quietly. A little light at the edge of the horizon. But light is still light, and dawn is still coming.
Do not give up because your hope feels small. Bring the small hope you have to the God who can make it abound.
Closing Encouragement
The God of hope is not empty. He can fill tired hearts with joy, peace, and renewed expectation through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer
God of hope, fill me again. Where my heart feels tired, renew me. Where hope feels small, strengthen it. Give me joy and peace in believing, and help me abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hope can feel distant after repeated disappointment. Thank you for pointing back to God’s faithfulness rather than offering shallow positivity.
