You Don’t Have to Know Yet

There comes a point in some decisions when you have thought about it so much that thinking about it one more time isn’t going to help.

You have looked at it from every angle. Maybe you have talked it through with someone you trust. You have imagined what could happen if you go one way and what might happen if you go the other. Yet when the room gets quiet, you still don’t know.

That can be a difficult place to sit.

We like certainty because certainty feels safe. We want God to show us the whole road before we take the first step. But James speaks directly into that uncomfortable space: if you lack wisdom, ask God.

Notice what Scripture doesn’t say. It doesn’t shame you for not knowing.

God already knows there will be moments when you cannot see clearly enough to make sense of everything in front of you. His invitation is simply to come closer and ask.

Maybe the answer won’t arrive as a dramatic sign. It may come as wisdom that settles your heart, a door that becomes clear, a conviction you can no longer ignore, or enough light to take one faithful step.

You do not have to figure out the entire road today.

Stay close to God. Ask Him for wisdom. Then walk faithfully with the light He gives you.
