God Saw That

You stayed late to help, rearranged your afternoon, or quietly paid for something someone needed. You were glad to do it, but when nobody acknowledged the effort, it stung a little. Now another need comes along, and you hesitate. You remember what it cost last time and wonder whether anyone appreciated it. Feeling overlooked can wear on a willing heart, especially when you’re already tired.
Jesus addressed giving in Matthew 6, teaching His followers to help others without making a public display of their generosity. “Your Father who sees in secret will reward you,” He said. Those words give us somewhere to rest when appreciation never comes. God sees the sacrifice behind the kindness, including the part nobody else knows about. You can tell Him honestly when you feel hurt and ask Him to keep that disappointment from becoming resentment. As you follow Jesus, let the love He has shown you guide your response to the next person who needs help. Your Father sees, and you can trust Him with what follows.
MOMENT OF PRAYER
Father, help me when I feel overlooked. Keep disappointment from closing my heart to others. Teach me to give freely and trust You with the recognition I sometimes want.
In Jesus’ beautiful name, Amen.
STAND FIRM TODAY
Look for one need you can meet quietly today, and do it. Leave the recognition to God.
