Gratitude for God’s Faithfulness

Gratitude helps the heart remember what pressure can make us forget. When we stop to thank God, we begin to see His faithfulness not only in big answers, but also in the small mercies of ordinary days.

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” — Psalm 100:4

Prayer

Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for the ways You have carried me, provided for me, corrected me, strengthened me, and stayed near to me. Some of Your blessings have been obvious, and some I may not have noticed at the time, but I know Your goodness has been present.

Your Word says to enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise. Today, I choose to bring You thanks. Thank You for life, breath, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and the hope found in Jesus Christ. Thank You for the people You have placed in my life and for the ways You have helped me through seasons I did not know how to face.

Forgive me for the times I focus more on what is missing than on what You have already given. Guard me from complaint, comparison, and forgetfulness. Open my eyes to the quiet gifts I often overlook.

Let gratitude shape my attitude, my words, and my worship. Help me live today with a thankful heart that remembers Your faithfulness and gives You praise.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Remembering God’s faithfulness changes the tone of prayer. Even while asking for help, we can look back and thank Him for the ways He has already carried us.
