A peaceful bedroom at night with a person sitting quietly in prayer before sleep.

Peace Before Going to Sleep

Night can make worries feel louder. When the day is done but your mind is still awake, prayer helps you place the unfinished things in God’s hands and receive His peace before sleep.

β€œI will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.” β€” Psalm 4:8

Prayer

Lord, as this day comes to an end, I bring You everything I am still carrying. The thoughts that keep running, the concerns I cannot solve tonight, the words I wish I had said differently, and the burdens that followed me into the evening. I place them before You.

Your Word says, β€œI will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.” Help me receive that promise tonight. Quiet my mind and calm my heart. Remind me that I do not have to stay awake trying to hold together what belongs in Your hands.

Thank You for carrying me through this day. Forgive me for where I fell short. Heal what was strained. Restore what was weary. Watch over my home, my family, and my heart as I sleep.

Lord, give me peaceful rest. Let my body recover, let my mind settle, and let my soul remember that You are faithful through the night. Tomorrow will have its own grace, but tonight I choose to rest in You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
