Healing for a Heavy Heart

A heavy heart can be hard to put into words. Whether the weight comes from hurt, disappointment, grief, or exhaustion, prayer brings the wounded places before the God who knows how to heal.

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3

Prayer

Lord, I bring You my heavy heart. You know the places inside me that feel bruised, tired, disappointed, or broken. Some of the pain is easy to explain, and some of it is not. But You see all of it, and I ask You to meet me with mercy.

Your Word says, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Lord, I need that healing. Touch the places I have tried to ignore. Comfort the places that still ache. Help me stop carrying old wounds as if they are part of who I am.

Teach me to release bitterness, fear, regret, and sorrow into Your hands. Heal my thoughts where pain has shaped them. Heal my emotions where they feel tangled. Heal my hope where it has grown tired.

Lord, I know healing can take time. Help me be patient with the process and faithful in the waiting. Surround me with Your presence, strengthen me through Your Word, and help me believe that my heart is not beyond Your care.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. A heavy heart can be difficult to explain to other people. I am thankful that God understands the full weight of it and meets us with compassion.
